Players! Captains! This is a call for the next commisioner

As many of you know, Commish Dan is stepping down after 20 years. Are you right for the role? You just might be!

Commissioner

Lead position dedicated to overseeing all operations of the league.

Things you would have to do:

  • Schedule winter captains meetings

  • Advise scheduler on field selections

  • Decide if fields are usable day of games

  • Work with Umpire Crew Chief to help with assessments

  • Work with SUP Committee to resolve disputes and manage any warranted disciplinary actions

  • Navigate conflict positively

  • Support collaboration and consensus-building

  • And basically anything that pops up and needs an immediate decision

  • The ideal candidate is comfortable celebrating all league members, protecting the image of the league, and promoting good sportsmanship, healthy competition, and fun.

A message from the Commish

This league is called Industrial for a reason: A lot of us have flipped burgers and served beers.

We work hard to come out to the park on Sunday.

This isn’t a corporate gig, and the league isn’t a business, it’s a family of choice.

It’s important that the next commissioner be able to be transparent, remain considerate of less popular or obvious issues, make the preservation of the league and its joys their top priority, and be able to commit to an entire season.

I’m making it sound hard, and it is, but I know a lot of you are more than capable!
